Wyoming elk have a vast array of rangeland to live on including everything from low-lying plains to steep, mountainous terrain. Those hunters lucky enough to hunt on private hunting ranches have the best chance of harvesting a trophy animal and possibly even one for the record books by using an experienced outfitter like R & K Hunting Company. We pride ourselves on matching the hunting goals of every client with the field conditions that best suit their individualized hunting experience. With over 1 million acres of private hunting property, R & K can make your elk hunting dreams come true. We love what we do and it shows by our attention to detail, successful harvests, and hunter return rate.
Wyoming elk hunters are subject to the lottery draw system. Most of the R & K Hunting Company elk hunting ranches are in the general elk tag pool, which draws 100% for non-resident special license. We also have two migratory hunts with a small percentage of tags allocated towards nonresidents.
Archery elk season runs from September 1st to 30th. Rifle season starts October 15 and typically runs for ten consecutive days. The migratory hunt starts November 1st running until the end of the calendar year. Our Wyoming guided elk hunts consist of five consecutive hunting days with great food and lodging included. The majority of our hunters fly into SLC international airport where they will rent a car and make a 2 hour drive east on I-80 to our ranches near the town of Evanston, Wyoming. The elk tag application deadline is Jan 31st and we will gladly submit all of your application paperwork for you once you reserve your spot.
Nonresident special license elk with preference point $1,057
Nonresident regular license elk with preference point $577
If you buy $60 preference points before September on the year prior to your hunt, year in advance, it will save you $500+ on license fee.
