Elk Hunting

Elf HuntingR&K Hunting Company has elk hunting opportunities so good you’ll think you’ve been cast in outdoor television show. We have low hunting pressure on big bulls in ideal Rocky Mountain terrain—big, open expanses of country split with dark timber and Western vistas.

Our guides know how to get you on bulls. On our Utah ranches, you’ll hunt land that’s enrolled in the state’s Cooperative Wildlife Management Units (CWMU) program, which gives us direct access to the hunting tags and permits on private lands. This enables our hunters to bypass the draw. This means guaranteed tags for all of our Utah rifle and archery hunters.

The dates for our Utah season range from September 1 through November 30. This season gives our clients the opportunity to book a rifle hunt during the rut, as well as beforehand, while the elk are migrating; as a result of this opportunity and our experienced guides our private land, fair-chase hunts have nearly a 100% success rate.

In Wyoming, our rifle elk hunts have nearly a 100% success rate as well. The season is shorter and happens during the general season (October 15-31) here. In Unit 106 there is also and opportunity to hunt elk during the November migration as snow pushes them out of the high country.

In order to hunt in Wyoming, you are required to draw a general permit. This may be a great option if you’re planning to come as a group due to the fact that they accept party applications for the draw (these can include up to six hunters).

Our private ranches in Wyoming are located along the foothills of the Uintah mountains. These areas are less rigorous to navigate and tend to be a great option for those who have some type of physical limitation.

The Wyoming archery season runs the length of September and is perfect for those who want to hunt elk during the rut. Although we have had some years in the past where we have experienced a 100% success rate, that isn’t typical, as this is archery hunting in a fair-chase hunt. Our Wyoming archery hunters should expect around a 50% harvest rate.
